The Disability Tax Credit Committee consists of members from Ostomy Canada Society and the Canadian Association for Enterostomal Therapy. They have been meeting monthly to discuss and plan the implementation of a strategy to inform the medical community, pharmacies, patients, and the general public about how people living with an ostomy can qualify for the Canadian Disability Tax Credit.
Ostomates have to receive the information and care which will enable them to live a self-determined and independent life and to participate in all decision making processes. It is the declared objective of the International Ostomy Association that this CHARTER shall be realized in all Countries of the World.
Ostomy Canada Connects (formerly called UOAConnection) is a newsletter outlining current events of Ostomy Canada Society and is published quarterly – January, April, July, and October. It is sent to all presidents of chapters affiliated with Ostomy Canada Society or anyone interested in being added to the email list.
