Is there any organization that helps with the cost of equipment needed for healing bedsores and helping to take pressure off the sores?

Response:

It depends – what province are you located in? Most organizations cover persons who have actual pressure injuries not prevention. Though preventative care drastically reduces cost to the healthcare system.

Organizations that might cover products such as off-loading surfaces, wheelchair cushions, specialized beds and positioning blocks for non-ambulatory patients.

Organizations that cover:

• Veterans Affairs
• Indigenous Services Canada
• Private insurance coverages from employment,
• Most homecare agencies but would depend upon each province

In Ontario there is the Assistive  Devices Program that covers products to reduce or heal pressure injuries.
