We are thrilled to welcome Colleen Ferguson as our new volunteer Events Coordinator.

Hailing from Moncton, NB, Colleen brings a wealth of professional administrative experience and is a Certified Ostomy Visitor. She will be responsible for helping track events for our Chapters and Peer Support Groups across Canada, as seen in the Upcoming Events section of our website. Her proficiency in both French and English makes her an invaluable addition to our team. Here’s a bit more about Colleen:
“Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2014, my journey took an unexpected turn in 2021 with emergency ileostomy surgery due to mono. For over 2 1/2 years, I embraced life as an ostomate, maintaining a positive outlook through exercise, meditation, journaling, and gratitude. Nature became my refuge, and hiking became my therapy. Stage one J-pouch surgery transformed my journey in August 2023, and by December 2023, I had completed my final J-pouch surgery. This journey taught me invaluable lessons about resilience and self-discovery. I am truly grateful for this experience and offer my heartfelt thanks to the incredible ostomy community.”
We are both grateful and excited to see how Colleen can help us elevate this service to the next level!
