Living with an Ostomy – Facebook Live Event
Wednesday, April 4, 2018
7:00 – 8:00 p.m. EDT
Crohn’s and Colitis Canada and Ostomy Canada Society have teamed up so we can talk more about ostomies! Join us for a live discussion on Facebook to hear and learn from people who know what it’s like to live with an ostomy, ask your questions, and share your experiences.
Carly Lindsay is a volunteer with Ostomy Canada, and is a Registered Nurse and Clinical Instructor at Queen’s University. She is currently training to become an Enterostomal Therapy Nurse and has been living with an ileostomy since the age of 9.
Rasheed Clarke is the Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. He underwent surgery for ulcerative colitis in 2013, and lived with an ostomy before another operation to create a pelvic pouch.
We’ll be talking about:
• What an ostomy is
• How to care for and live well with a stoma or pelvic pouch
• The challenges and benefits of an ostomy
• Accessing resources to support your life with an ostomy
Join our event page to be notified when the live broadcast begins and get the discussion started ahead of time!
