North Vancouver’s Alex MacInnis is tackling the Squamish 50/50 Ultramarathon with a permanent ileostomy to raise awareness and funds for Ostomy Canada. After losing his large intestine to Crohn’s disease, Alex is proving life doesn’t end after ostomy surgery—running over 130 km in two days to inspire others and change perceptions. His campaign, Ultras for Ostomies, supports programs that connect people to resources, community, and hope.
