To find out more on how to donate gifts of security or mutual funds here is a useful site for additional information. You can follow the procedures documented on the following website:

We would like to acknowledge generous donations received by Ostomy Canada through planned gifts. These funds are used to promote and support the activities of the organization across all of our programs. You too can add a registered charity to your will simply by adding Ostomy Society Canada Inc. as a beneficiary. The tax receipt issued would benefit the estate when applied against prior years’ and current tax returns. This is particularly effective when the estate has significant tax liabilities from registered retirement funds or capital gains which must be reported. There are other options such as life insurance policies and donations of stocks and bonds. The variations are endless and the tax implications are complex depending on an individual’s tax situation. Gifts when individuals are still living are also a possibility as in a charity gift annuity. The complexity of various forms of planned giving is something that an individual must consider when planning their estate and will. You should consult your advisors or contact the office to discuss options.
